About Me

Equity and Inclusion

I am all about equity and inclusion. I believe that every human being should be able to thrive. It shouldn't matter what race they are, who they love, if they are disabled, have mental illness, how much money they have, or how old they are. I believe that our differences are what make us who we are, and we should celebrate them.

There are so many things we could do to help people start on an 'equal' playing feild. For example, making more buildings handicap accessible. An able-bodied person and a disabled person should be able to shop at the same stores, or go to the same events and both have a good time. Although there are buildings that have accommodations for disabled people, their are still a lot of buildings that don't. We need to have resources readily available for people who need them.

If we started trying harder to include people that are different from us, I think the world would start to become a better place. People would have a better understanding for each others situations and they would be able to empathize with each other. Lets celebrate our differences.

My Challenge with 2020

In 2020 I was a senior in highschool, about to gradute and go off to college. Then there was this virus going around... you might have heard of it. It was called Covid-19. March came around and we were told that we had to take two weeks off of school, but that we would be back. Two weeks past, and we did not go back. Classes were online and everyone was at home. This virus was all over the world and all over the news too. No one really knew what was going on, how it spread, or how serious it really was. This caused me to become really anxious.

I was trying to get through the last stretch of highschool while living through a global pandemic, and having awful anxiety. It seems so odd to say it like that, but its true! Unfortunately this was not just my experience, but it was one of the most challenging years for me. I was able to graduate highschool, but not have a normal graduation. I tried to keep my self entertained by picking up new hobbies like working out, at home of course, doing nails and makeup, and watching a lot of Netflix.

I was able to get the anxiety under control by cutting out caffeine and doing things like yoga and meditation. Obviously the anxiety didn't just disappear, but it was more bearable. Now I do online school, by choice, and I love it! 2020 made me a much stronger, patient, and resilient person.
